InterconnectivityThis is a featured page

Hello and welcome to my site: Pro Animal Rights. A site devoted to raising awareness about the evils of ANIMAL TESTING

"I
know, in my soul, that to eat a creature who is raised to be eaten, and who never has a chance to be a real being, is unhealthy. It's like...you're just eating misery. You're eating a bitter life."
-- Alice Walker
baby cow..how can you eat her?

"Calves are adorable," as columnist David Plotz expressed it in Slate magazine, "but veal is delicious... Veal, no matter what seasonings cover it, or what sanctimony defends it, does not carry the "taste of elegance." Veal carries, as Alice Walker observes, "the taste of a bitter life."
-
- Matthew Scully. Though this guy's a super Right wing writer and presidential speech writer, I thought his view was very apt.

"Nonviolence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all living beings, we are all savages."
--
Thomas Edison

I have put together this site because I am disgusted by the pain that animals must endure for our supposed "betterment." How can we call it betterment when others have had to undergo horrors, including, death in the most terrifying ways.

Everything is connected. If we mistreat the animals that live on this earth, this causes deep trauma to the earth and in turn to us, in many ways. And the havoc the earth is creating right now is simply part of it's cycle, which is much longer than ours. But to believe that we aren't able to affect change with respect to animal abuse is idiotic!

From the maggot-like individuals who torture animals, and tell themselves it's for something "noble", to the consumers who buy the products that have been created through animal torture, and finally all sentient, and deeply caring people, suffer.

I have chosen to call this site 'Interconnectivity" to remind each of us that we are all connected.

The bunny whose eyes' are smeared with your favourite perfume, choking on the pain, and all the other millions of bunnies, kitties, dogs, turtles, rats, mice...and there are many more animals, who are made to live in hell, the big companies like Kimberly-Clark, not only use old growth material, they also torture animals.

Sadly, we are usually interconnected though pain. Though, if more people acknowledged the web of pain, instead of saying, shit like:
a) "There are so many (usually followed by an expletive) mice (this can be replaced with any other sentient being that gets tortured) in the world."
b) "It's not as if they have anything to live for anyway",
c) "They were bred for this purpose"(for whatever cruel testing they are forced to undergo)
d) "Without them, how would science have ever made the breakthroughs it has?",
and I take, perhaps the most offence at the this statement, which we've all heard thousands of times:
e) "Mice (replace this with any other sentient being) don't feel pain."

Shit, if I had a penny, never mind a dime, every time I heard a troglodyte open their mouth to produce the above crap, I would most certainly be wealthy today. Yes, it's a damn fact that most people regard animals as weak, inferior, and below "us".

But I refuse to let hate, apathy, stupidity, and cruelness win
.

Animals are used as living battering rams in every capacity inhumanly possible. They are used as impact "dummies" to check car safety (General Motors); this is called "live testing" and has purportedly ended, they are tested on to ensure our hands won't become sensitive to our dish soap, such as Ivory (Procter and Gamble) to vaccines and lipsticks.

Here is a quote from a PETA letter, which summarizes the extent of horror we inflict, and allow to be inflicted on these beautiful beings.

"The cosmetics industry subjects rabbits, immobilized in metal "stocks" to the infamous Draize test. The rabbits' eyes are smeared with drugs, nail polish remover, hair spray or shampoo...and since rabbits have no tear ducts, they cannot wash their eyes clean.(emphasis mine) The predictable results are corneal ulcers, hemorrhaging, and blindness.

The victims of these and many other equally cruel and painful tests include horses and lambs, calves, cows, pigs, goats, doves, kittens, mice, turtles, other wildlife and man's closest living relative - the chimpanzee. (emphasis mine) No living being is exempt. Not even "man's best friend".

As a matter of fact, your own dog or cat could easily become one of these victims...because each year, "pound seizure" laws force unwilling animal shelters to turn over some 200,000 lost cats or dogs to experimentation.

But make no mistake. Wherever these animals come from, they are all sensitive, vulnerable, beings with distinct personalities.
"

The Guinea pig is no longer a little animal, loving friend, but a term for a small animal without the capacity to fight back, ie: human guinea pig, and so gets tortured and disposed of at a much higher rate than one would care to believe. The article can be found the page: On Cruelty-free; Get informed, which I found on Greenpeace's forum page.

Most humans still think they are entitled to assert their human-ness ..or evilness over the earth and the beings that inhabit it. Most people still justify using animals to test vaccines on, caging them, wearing their bodies and skins and coats, eating their flesh that has been killed in horrific ways.

It is crucial to question what we read, find out all the facts, and who interests are being represented while still continuing to fight for the lives of our friends the silent masses of torture victims in labs worldwide.
